Cathie Hamilton

Cathie was born in Fort Erie, Ontario and raised there. She attended Brock University and became an elementary school teacher. Later, she moved to the Kingston area and attended Queen’s University where she finished her degree. Cathie has been drawing and painting since she was very young. Many of her skills were self taught. She started painting in oils. Her abilities continue to evolve with practice and the occasional art class. Cathie now works, mainly in acrylics and water colour. Cathie has learned how to paint in the grisaille style and has completed several paintings using this technique. Recently, she began to use texture in some of her pieces. She finds it an exciting and fascinating way to represent art and plans to use texture more often.
